The Award
The John Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award for Brewing Excellence was established to recognize brewers who have made a major impact on Canada’s craft beer industry. The award will be presented annually to an individual whose brewing expertise, inspiration, enthusiasm, and support have contributed to the success, and growth, of the craft brewing movement.
40 Year Tribute
BC’s Russell Brewing Co. released John Michell Signature Cascadian Ale, forty years after craft beer was officially served in Canada. The project was initiated by John Mitchell’s long-time associate, John Ohler. Proceeds from the collaboration benefit the John Mitchell Legacy Endowed Scholarship open to students in the Brewing & Brewery Operations Diploma program at KPU.
